Charlotte's 5 Can't-Miss Concerts of the Summer

Summer is officially here, and that means concert season. Charlotte has a packed concert lineup all summer long and there will be no shortage of incredible shows. From the undiscovered superstars to the A-list megastars, the Queen City will feature them all. With the amount of talent coming to the city over the next few months, it can be tough to keep track of every show. To help, here are the top five most anticipated concerts in Charlotte this summer, arranged chronologically.

Luke Combs - July 13th

Luke Combs returns home to Charlotte, NC for the first time as a headliner. Born in Charlotte and raised in Asheville, NC, Combs attended Appalachian State University while in the early phases of launching his successful music career. Combs will visit the PNC Music Pavilion while on his Beer Never Broke My Heart tour. After rocking a sold-out show at the PNC Music Pavilion while touring with Jason Aldean last summer, this promises to be a concert for the ages.

Blink-182 & Lil Wayne – July 23rd

What a pair this is. In May, Blink-182 and Lil Wayne had announced a joint, co-headlining tour for this summer. The city of Charlotte is lucky enough to be one of the stops along the way, and man are we excited. Whether you’re a fan of Blink-182, Lil Wayne, or both, you can’t miss this show. And if you haven’t heard the What’s My Age Again and A Milli mashup yet, stop reading and listen right now. Here it is:

John Mayer – August 9th

That’s right Charlotte – John Mayer and his once-in-a-generation vocal cords are coming back to the Queen City. Mayer always puts on an unbelievable performance while he plays hit after hit, and his worldwide tour will be visiting the Spectrum Center this August. A live John Mayer performance is something that everyone needs to experience, so be sure to secure your tickets for the heavily anticipated event.

Khalid – August 13th

Khalid took the music world by storm when he released his first single, Location, at just 18 years old. Still only 21, he consistently puts out chart-topping hits. As one of the most successful new artists of the last three years, Khalid always puts on an exceptional live performance. The immensely talented artist will be performing at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte this summer.

Queen & Adam Lambert – August 23rd

Another pair that we can’t wait for. There’s something about two headliners for one concert that gets us even more excited than normal. Queen, as legendary of a band as they are, has gained even more popularity recently with the release of their biography film, Bohemian Rhapsody. Adam Lambert came on the scene after a 2nd place finish on American Idol in 2009 and has sold millions of albums and singles since. This is a can’t-miss concert.
