Jimmie Allen Rocked the Epicenter Last Night

Charlotte features big names in the music industry on a weekly basis, but very rarely do big names perform for the public for free. On Wednesday night, Jimmie Allen took the stage at Whisky River in the Epicenter and the public was admitted to the show at zero charge.

The concert was incredible. Maura Streppa, a local singer-songwriter in Charlotte, kicked things off at 8:30 pm as she opened for Allen. Performing a combination of originals and covers, the 18-year old Streppa did an excellent job of getting the crowd ready for the headliner.

Allen took the stage around 9:30 and opened with his hit song Make Me Want To. He rocked his originals as well as covers of Matchbox Twenty, Alabama, and more. Allen really separated his performance from others as he also took the time to relate to the audience. Before closing with his chart-topping single Best Shot, Allen told the story of his journey to country music fame. He moved to Nashville, TN to chase his dream, and wasn’t afraid to hustle the entire time. From picking up side-jobs to working night shifts, Allen is proof that hard work pays off and is a true inspiration to anybody currently working hard to reach their goals.

After the show, Allen took the time to have a meet and greet/photo op with every fan in attendance. Allen also announced via Instagram that he will be the recipient of the 2019 MusicRow Breakthrough Artist-Writer of the Year Award. Congrats to Jimmie on the well-deserved award – it was the perfect cap to an incredible night of music.
