Five Can't-Miss Concerts in Charlotte this Fall
This past Monday marked the first week of fall, but with it comes no shortage of can’t miss Charlotte concerts. Summer 2019 was highlighted by incredible shows week after week, and the fall is ready to follow suit. A time of year traditionally dominated by apple picking, pumpkin carving and haunted hayrides also includes several can’t miss concerts featuring generational talents across a wide array of genres. While it won’t be quite as busy as the summer months, it is still difficult to stay on top of every concert coming to the Queen City. To help, we put together a list of our top 5 can’t-miss concerts in Charlotte this fall – and the first one is tonight!
Old Dominion – September 27th
Old Dominion takes the stage at the Spectrum Center in Uptown tonight, with the show starting at 7:00pm. The current ACM Group of the Year and reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year is currently on their Make It Sweet tour which also features the acts of Jordan Davis and Ryan Hurd. They recently announced the release of their upcoming self-titled album Old Dominion which is set to hit stores and streaming platforms on October 25th. Does that mean there could be an album preview featuring unreleased music tonight?
Breakaway Music Festival – October 4th & 5th
Breakaway Music Festival is a two-day music festival that currently makes stops in four cities across the country. Breakaway comes to Charlotte at the beginning of next month and features several acts in one. Friday of the festival will be headlined by Future and Lil Baby, with other acts including Fisher, Dombresky, Boogie and more. Illenium and Kaskade take the stage as headliners Saturday night after the likes of Chelsea Cutler, Bryce Vine, Kid Quill and others perform throughout the day. For all the music festival goers that live here in Charlotte, this one is right in our backyard.
Elton John – November 6th
Elton John is coming to the Spectrum Center in early November, and this is the definition of a can’t-miss concert. Currently on his Yellow Brick Road tour, this is the final tour of John’s illustrious music career. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, John trails only The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Madonna for the most record sales of all time. Be a part of history this fall and join one of the greatest of all time as he says farewell to the Queen City.
Gryffin – November 16th
Gryffin is a DJ and music producer who rose to fame when he released a remix of the popular Maroon 5 song Animals in 2014. This caught the attention of many, including Interscope Records, who Gryffin later signed with. Gryffin is currently on his Gravity II tour and has played sets at major festivals like Coachella. He will take the stage at The Fillmore in Charlotte this November in what is almost certain to be a sold-out venue.
Jeezy – November 26th
Jeezy is a rapper and hip-hop artist that first came onto the music scene in 2001. Formerly known as Young Jeezy, he has released a total of ten albums in his career. Jeezy’s third album, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, was released in 2005 after he signed with Def Jam Recordings. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum. Jeezy is no stranger to the Queen City as he performed at The Fillmore during March of last year, and he will be taking the very same stage again this November.
