While each venue provides its own unique experience, certain ones have made a point to stand out among the rest. PNC Music Pavilion

The PNC Music Pavilion, located near the University of North Carolina Charlotte, first opened its doors on the Fourth of July in 1991. Originally known as the Blockbuster Pavilion, it has been a leader in the Charlotte concert scene ever since. Today, big names come through on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. With a large area of covered seating and a giant lawn area for general admission tickets, the PNC Music Pavilion continues to be a Charlotte favorite.

Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre

It’s tough to find a better concert venue than the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre on a beautiful summer night. The Amphitheatre is located at the AvidXChange Music Factory and provides an incredible view of the stunning Charlotte skyline. Offering numerous seats as well as spacious lawn seating, it’s one of the great outdoor concert venues in Charlotte. Oh, and did we mention the skyline?

The Fillmore

Designed to embody many of the elements of The Original Fillmore in San Francisco, The Fillmore Charlotte is located at the AvidXChange Music Factory and provides for incredible concert experiences. After first opening in 2009, The Fillmore Charlotte has welcomed a variety of hit performers onto its stage. Raised, stadium style tiers of standing areas allow for great viewing of the entire concert from anywhere inside.

The Underground

A smaller concert venue located at the AvidXChange Music Factory, The Underground is affiliated with and adjacent to The Fillmore. Since its opening during the summer of 2016, The Underground has provided Charlotte with a concert venue that allows for incredible musical performances in a tight-knit venue. A strong mix of up and coming as well as well-known artists and bands visit The Underground each year. 

Spectrum Center

Home to the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA, the Spectrum Center is also Charlotte’s largest concert venue. Located in beautiful Uptown Charlotte, the Spectrum Center welcomes large artists and bands every year. The arena originally opened in 2005 as the home to the then Charlotte Bobcats, and it has been in staple the Queen City ever since.

Coyote Joe's

Coyote Joe’s is Charlotte’s premier country music bar. Since its doors first opened in 1991, Coyote Joe’s has hosted several big-name and up and coming country artists. The concert venue sports a large dance floor and has hosted live music video recordings for artists like Luke Combs, Kane Brown and Dylan Scott. Coyote Joe’s also features its own country cover band on nights when guests aren’t performing.

U.S. National Whitewater Center

The U.S. National Whitewater Center is a premier training center for the U.S. Olympic whitewater slalom racing team. Located along the Catawba River and home to several outdoor activities, the U.S. National Whitewater Center also hosts its popular “River Jam” every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from May through September. River Jam features live musical performances at a one-of-a-kind outdoor concert venue.

Amos’ Southend

The U.S. National Whitewater Center is a premier training center for the U.S. Olympic whitewater slalom racing team. Located along the Catawba River and home to several outdoor activities, the U.S. National Whitewater Center also hosts its popular “River Jam” every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from May through September. The Evening Muse

The Evening Muse is a live music venue located in the NoDa Arts District of Charlotte, NC. Since opening in 2001, the Muse has played home to shows performed by thousands of musical acts. The artists and bands that come through on a regular basis are original, independent talents that are based both locally and around the globe. More of an intimate setting, the sound and experience at The Evening Muse is one-of-a-kind.

Visulite Theatre

Visulite Theatre is located in the Elizabeth area of Charlotte, just outside of Uptown. Having first opened its doors in 1999, both local and nationally touring bands have taken the stage there over the years. The venue features a pit in front of the stage, followed by two tiers of elevated seating which creates an incredible viewing experience. Featuring bands and artists of all genres, this is a great place to enjoy a Charlotte concert.

Neighborhood Theatre

The Neighborhood Theatre is a renovated movie theater which originally opened its doors in 1945. It was made into a live concert venue in 1997 and hosts local and national artists. Located in the NoDa area of Charlotte, the Neighborhood Theatre is a smaller concert allowing for an incredible experience and opportunity to discover new music.

Ovens Auditorium

Located next to Bojangles’ Coliseum, Ovens Auditorium also originally opened in 1955. Ovens has hosted over 7,000 events – everything from concerts to Broadway shows, opera and dance recitals. Large artists have visited Ovens Auditorium over the years, and many continue to make their way onto the Ovens stage today.
